Chab x INSEAD Grad Trip
Volunteering with CHAB Events for the INSEAD Grad Trip in Dubrovnik was an incredible opportunity to gain hands-on event management experience. With 300 students attending, my role involved everything from curating a Spotify playlist for dinners and parties to coordinating transportation and working with hotel staff. I also managed logistics for the Olympic-style games, ensuring all materials were ready and the event ran smoothly.
A key aspect of my role was communication. I managed guest support via WhatsApp, answering queries and keeping everyone informed. I also created video guides to help attendees navigate between venues, such as the beach party and Olympic Games. Hosting the games was a highlight, allowing me to engage with the group and ensure they had fun.
Managing expectations was a challenge, as guests expected high-end treatment on a modest budget. With alcohol flowing in the hot sun, safety was also a top priority. I kept communication clear and proactive, reminding guests to stay hydrated while handling their requests via WhatsApp. By setting realistic expectations, providing thoughtful touches like a curated playlist, and ensuring everyone stayed safe, I was able to deliver a memorable experience without overspending.
